Sessions will typically consist of the following elements:

  • Case History
  • Examination
  • Treatment
  • Exercise and Advice

The degree to which these elements are used depends upon the needs of the client. For example a specific injury will require more detailed case history and examination than a general sports massage.

Treatments are unique to the client. All factors of the individual will be taken into account, such as age, health, fitness and personality.

Injury Treatment
A treatment dedicated to injuries and muscular pain.
We will endeavour to understand the reason why the injury has taken place (if not first apparent), examine and assess the injury, and then advise on the best treatment and exercise for the specific injury.

Treatment will then commence, together with an exercise programme, so as to get you back to full fitness in the quickest possible time.

Personal Exercise Therapy
Corrective and functional exercise is a rapidly advancing field. Exercise is an essential factor in injury recovery, conditioning and performance, and if used correctly can play a preventative role in injury management.

For the injured athlete, gym user or armchair athlete, exercise therapy can help to restore range of motion, re-build strength, endurance, power, re-establish neuromuscular balance and control, and provide positive progress for a specific sport or a healthier lifestyle.

Full Body Maintenance / Massage
A sports massage is important for achieving and maintaining muscular and joint flexibility, increasing performance and reducing the risk of injury.

Massage sessions should form a serious part of your training and playing, as it is important for the therapist to detect and treat any problems before they become serious. The treatment will be tailored to you and your requirements, whether you are a top athlete or not.

Pre and Post Event Massage
Pre event: A short massage, lasting about 20 minutes, given on the day of an event to warm and stimulate the muscles.
Post event: A general massage to aid the recovery of muscles by increasing circulation and speeding up the removal of waste products like lactic acid, and to assess and treat any injuries.

Pre and post event massage can be performed in the clinic or at an event if arranged in advance.

Subject to arrangement, travelling costs may be charged extra.
